Shabby spring card

I had a craft day with my friend Tina yesterday and she told me about a sketch challenge at http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/. This is a challenge that I have not entered before and all my followers will know I am a BIG challenge fan. We both decided to have a go at the sketch to see how different our sketches turned out. Check Tina's out here:- http://sparklygirl-tina.blogspot.com/ and mine is above. I decided to go for a  modern kind of shabby card and Tina went for bright and bold colours.
The frame and border were cut on my Cricut machine and the bird is a Marianne die cut. I distressed my paper edges and I layered the frame with foam pads to give it some lift. I made the flower myself by gathering some lace into a circle for the outer layer. The second layer is cut from a small scalloped die and I added a button to the centre tied with some twine.
My friends know I am not a "white space" person, so this is the nearest I will probably get to a "clean and simple" card. I must admit I enjoyed making it but am a bit disappointed that it did not photograph well. I gave up after trying three times.
