Bird House

This is my entry for Polkadoodle challenge 16. The challenge this week is "spots and stripes"
Everything I used was from the Candy Doodles CD except the Ribbon, brads and the leaves for the flowers which were made using a punch. I loved making this bird house and it was so quick and easy to make. I printed the template from the disc and then ran it back through the printer and choose the striped paper to print on the roof. I used spotted paper for the rest of the house. I used different striped paper to put along the bottom edge and a nice scalloped border to use under the eaves of the house. I used a different scalloped piece to make the handle and attached it with a couple of brads. I attached a large bird on the outside of the house and two smaller birds on the inside. The birds inside were fixed on a piece of card so that when the house is moving the birds wobble slightly and make them more realistic. I finished the project off by adding a piece of ribbon to the handle, some circled birds on the sides and some flowers on the front of the house. My first granchild is due in three weeks and I am hoping it is a girl. If it is I shall keep this until she is a bit older and put a nice little present inside for her.
Pop over to this site. and have a look at this week's creations. There is a new challenge every Friday and you have two weeks to get your challenge in.
