Penny Black Floral

The challenge at Penny Black and More for February is "Use your favourite stamp". I have so many I can call my favourite so I chose to a new stamp which is called "Freshly cut". I  was excited when I found this PB stamp as the Chrysanthemum is one of my favourite flowers. As it grows from the first tight bud the petals uncurl showing different hues of it's colour. Every day the hues change as it uncurls a bit more but still has that tight bud centre until it dies.
It made a nice crisp image but a little bit more difficult to water colour due to the tightness of the petals. I mixed a pink colour in my palette until it was as near as I could get to the pink in my background paper. After adding my designer paper to my card I added white and blue matts to the back of my image. To finish I added cupped sequins and a white organza bow.
The Penny Black challenge runs for the whole month of February.  I am sure you all have favourite stamps in your stash so why not enter the challenge and also have the chance to win one of several prizes up for grabs this month. The sponsors are:-

A quick note

I needed a modern card for a young lady and the PB stamp I used is called "Words So Sweet" no. 4256K. There are still some people who like to use "snail mail" and this image is perfect for those who do.
I chose black and grey shades for matting and layering and left the image uncoloured. I added the background die cut doily and tabs for interest behind the image. I finished my card off with some black diamontes and a die cut rosette.

A quick reminder that the Penny Black and More challenge for January is Anything goes. If you want to enter there is still plenty of time to do so. The sponsors for the month of January are Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons and Tattered lace. If you do wish to enter please read the rules carefully as you would not want to miss out on the chance to win a fabulous prize.

Quick and easy PB card

Happy New year to you all. It's the first Sunday of the month and the challenge at Penny Black and More for the month of January is Anything goes and this is my blog inspiration card.
I borrowed the lovely "Adornment" stamp from my friend Beryl and it stamped beautifully.
Being the slowest crafter on earth my New Year resolution is to make some simpler cas cards.
I  purposely picked a very small card so I could not get much on it. Lol. How hard could it be? I matted and layered my card, added die cut floral edges, aglued on the stamped image and finished it off with a mini bow and  diamontes. Done. I had to quickly photograph it before my fingers itched to put more on.

Christmas Poinsettia

Using Penny Black Wonder Collection

I love the stamp set I used which was a magazine freebie from Penny Black called -Wonder Collection. It has a selections of Christmas stamps including a gorgeous Christmas tree. There are also  three sentiments in the set one of which is the Joy.Peace.Love sentiment I used on my card. I used an embossing folder to give some texture to the background. I used delicate die cut corners and a circle die cut for decoration and finished it off using a strip of diamontes and a few flower shaped sequins.
I made my mid month inspiration card for a reminder on the Penny Black and More blog . The challenge is for Black, White and one other colour. I chose to use red for my Christmas card but you can choose any other colour of your choice. I know you are all busy at this time of year but there are several great prizes up for grabs. Pop over to the blog to get all the details and RULES before entering.

Flower Basket

Using Penny Black Merci Bouquet 40-063

The challenge at Penny Black and More this month is Black and White + 1 other colour. For my card I used one of my favourite PB stamps, some designer paper and black card for the background and matting. I cut two scraps of black card and cut notches in the ends to make the little banners for the top of my card. I added three black gems to the bottom so my card would not look top heavy and finished it off by adding diamonte centered mini flowers in shades of pink to the basket and the ends of the banners. The gorgeous very sparkly flowers do not show up unless you zoom in.

Blue Christmas

A mid month inspirational Christmas card for the Penny Black and More November challenge.
I stamped and water coloured my image (PB Sweet Snowman 40-006) and added a bit of sparkle to the image. I added a silver mat and DP to the card. I placed embossed card to the left and a few die cut snowflakes to the right and placed the image to the bottom of the card.To finish I die cut three Poinsettias and a few pine cone strands to the top and gave them a sparkle. Topped with with matching turquoise gem centres and a few mini diamonte to the strands they look gorgeous.

Christmas Snowman

                                   Penny Black 40-006  Sweet Snowman

It's challenge time again at Penny Black and More and the theme for this month is Anything Christmas with stamping. There are lovely prizes to be won from Penny Black, Crafts U Love and Crafty Ribbons. Pop over to the PB blog to get all the information and rules. You can use any stamped image but no digis.

I have made a nice and easy card for your inspiration using a PB stamp called Sweet Snowman. I had some lovely tree printed card which was free with a magazine so put it to good use on my card. I stamped and did minimal water colouring on my image, added a purple mat to it and the background card before adding it to the front of my card. I added a pretty piece of sheer ribbon to finish off.

Carrot Collector

Stamp = Penny Black Carrot Collector 40-370

This is my mid month inspirational card for the Penny Black and More October challenge. The Autumnal colours are taken from the inspiration colour board featured on the blog. Please pop over to the blog for all the challenge details using the link above. There is still plenty of time to enter your card or project but please remember READ THE RULES. Sadly several cards/projects have been eliminated from the prize draw as they do not meet the criteria.

For my card I mat and layered card and paper as seen above. This was the first time of using this cute girl with her basket of carrots. It fitted the Autumnal theme beautifully. I mixed water colours to compliment the paper and coloured the image. I matted it to more of the same red card I used and off set it on top of the layers. This left me room for a large flower (centered with a white brad) and die cut swirl with leaves. All it needed to finish off was the tiny red pearls to show off the die cut slightly. As I don't normally use these colours I was happy with the finished card.

Autumnal Sunflowers

The October challenge at Penny Black and More is an autumnal colour inspiration challenge of reds, greens, yellows etc. For full details click on the direct challenge link above. Sponsors are Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons and Stamp Addicts. Please take time to read the rules  before you enter your work.

I decided to use a Penny Black slapstick stamp called Sunny Pair which is a gorgeous Sunflower stamp. I watercoloured the image with a mixture of red, green, and yellow colours from the inspiration chart. I fussy cut the flowers chopping of a tiny piece in my effort but I don't think you will notice it. It was then backed with red and white card. I found a lovely sheet of designer paper for my background and finished off my card using white organza ribbon, pearls and a couple of snippets from a strip of stickers. I am so pleased with how it turned out.
I have entered my card into the following challenges

Penny Black Saturday challenge - Autumnal ends 4/11

Bouquet

The September challenge at Penny Black and More is in full swing and you have plenty of time left to make a card which must include a sentiment.
Pop over to the blog for our list of generous sponsors, Penny Black, Marianne design, Sizzix and Sam. Please also take a moment to read the rules.

A walk round the garden inspired me to make this pretty card. There were a few late summer butterflies and flowers around and I remembered I had a pad which had a butterfly design. The woodwash paper was also in the same pad (bought from the Range recently) I used  PB image 40063(Merci bouquet) and sentiment (Gratitude) 30-105. I matted the layers with blue card from my stash and the image was coloured with colour coordinating Promarkers. I used 3 butterflies cut from the same backing paper and finished it off with 3 pearls.
